2008 Drag Radial Class Rules downloadable/printable PDF format CLASS DESCRIPTION STREET EQUIPMENT The car must retain its original appearance and profiles. Aftermarket fiberglass parts are limited to hood and bumpers only. Only factory equipped fiberglass wings and spoilers are permitted. No sheet metal rear wings or 1-piece front ends allowed. INTERIOR: Vehicles must retain a "street appearing" interior. Factory door panels, headliner, carpet, dashboard are required. Two front seats required (bench seat OK). Back seat may be deleted, but must have carpet covering the bare floor. WINDOWS: Must be of safety glass. No Lexan permitted. The only exception will be the rear window of an El-Camino or other truck for roll bar access. All front door windows must be fully operational. STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: All cars are required to have working headlights and tail lights, Brake lights, turn signals are required. TIRES: Any front tires permitted with minimum 4.5" tread width. Rear tires will be grouped into 4 different catagories, all of which have a max advertised height of 26" : Drag Compound Radials -- This includes M/T, Hoosier, Dunlop and Goodyear drag radials. 9" maximum measured tread width (235/60-15 for example) Street Compound Drag Radials -- BFG Drag Radials and Nitto 555R Drag Radials Max 275mm section width (275/50-15 or 275/40-17 for example) Street Radials -- This would be any Non-Drag Radial with a tread wear rating above zero. Any width allowed, must maintain 26" height maximum.
Drag Slicks -- Allowed only on FWD vehicles, must maintain 26" height maximum
and 9" tread width maximum. |
