Here is the info we handed out in the meeting. If anyone has any questions let me know, excel payouts file doesnt work very good in this format, but you can figure it out:

Schedule:

May 22nd - Woodburn

June - 11 - 12 - PIR ROSE CUP (Tentative)

July 17th - Woodburn

3 - Second round loser
2 - First round loser
1 - Making a qualifying pass

2 - Top Qualifier

10.50 Index:

CLASS RECORDS:

2 - If you break the MPH Record

2 - Beaches Cruise In: We will schedule a night for us to show what we got at a Wed. night beaches cruise in at PIR. 2 Point will be awarded for showing up with your car.

The last race of the year at Woodburn (Sept 19th) will be for X2 points!

There will be 1 throw away race. So as an Example, if we complete 6 races, we will take a person’s 5 best points results. We are doing this so that if you miss a race, it won’t necessarily hurt you in the point standings.

Points follow the driver in the class, so a different car can be used if needed.

Brian will be keeping track of points for the year. He will also be updating the website after each race with the standings.

Registration and entry fee:

This year there will be a $10 registration fee which will give us valuable information on each racer. The registered racer will receive a class sticker to run for the year that will say the class name and sponsor. They will also get a headsupnw sticker.

There will also be a $20 entry fee for each race. Most of the money paid goes back to the point’s race pot. (See attachment).
Car Count per race   Total Entries   Total $ in pot   Percent to HUNW   $ to HUNW   $ to Winner   $ to Runner Up

I knew you'd get that asterisk in there Dan.  I agree with you.  I think it would be a good idea to address the multiple tire size situation, so this could be put to rest.  I think that allowing a different size based on manufaturer is confusing.  Either make it 235 for all, or 275 for all.  Then the asterisk is out of the equation.  Just my $.02.   Kris

Did we dis PIR or did PIR dis us?
The track where we started is all but gone from the schedule. Tentative or TBA.
High HP that can't run well at PIR seems to be dictating.
Woodburn isn't all that freindly to us non trailer guys.

If Pete from PIR would answer the damn phone the race dates wouldnt be tentative or TBA.

The simple fact is that Woodburn embraced our organization this year, made efforts to fit our races into the schedule to allow us better track prep (read: not on import days), and gave our class winners alot of benefits as well.

Trust me, I like to race at PIR as well because it is closer, but we needed to get our schedule ironed out and they seemed unresponsive.

I wonder if PIR is having financial issues? Even the Fri/Sat street legals were poorly attended last year. Folks just didn't have money to play.

Do you drive in Brian?
I used to drive to Woodburn all the time, but since the switch to the bigger engine, I've only done it 2 times. And the starting line seemed poor to me.

If PIR shot themselves in the foot, so be it.

Ron,
The simple fact is we would like to have our dates set asap. Tim has been calling the office as well as his cell for a couple of weeks ( min ) And your right there count has not been good on fri, Sat. We need to act more like a business, even if PIR cant.
From what Tim said, Pete is the only one that can set or approve drag race dates..
We tried Roll Eyes
